Ningbo Bureau of Foreign trade and Economic Cooperation said in 2008, Ningbo enterprises had made more investment in foreign countries. From Jan to May, Ningbo has approved 49 new outbound enterprises, 17 more than that at the same period of last year. Chinese partners have invested US $ 114 million. Among 49 new setups, 22 are in trade sector, 19 are outbound agencies, 4 processing enterprises, 2 production enterprises, 1 engineering company and 1 research center. So far, Ningbo has set up 768 outbound enterprises in 73 countries and regions. Chinese side has invested US $ 358 million. Therefore, Ningbo has the most outbound enterprises among cities at sub-province level in China.
