The first Ningbo farmers Film Festival and the 14th Si Ming Mountain Film Festival opened.

June 28, thousands of farmers gathered at the square in Tian Hua Village, Lang Xia Neighborhood, and Yu Yao
to enjoy performance featured with countryside style. The activity is for
cerebrating the opening of the first Ningbo farmers Film Festival and the
14th Si Ming Mountain Film Festival. Ningbo is closely connected with Chinese film.
Ningbo is the hometown of over 100 famous film
workers, such as Yuan Muzhi, the first director of State Film Affairs
Administration in China. Famous actor Wei Zhongwan and
actress Zhi Huaqong attended the opening ceremony as both of them are natives of
Ningbo.
Ningbo has paid
attentions to film market in countryside for long time. The project of showing
films in countryside is included in the 11th five year plan. 2008
Ningbo first
farmers’ festival will be closed on July 16. During the festival, selection for
films farmers like, showing films etc will be held. The purpose of the festival
is to promote culture construction in countryside and to give full scope to
roles of films in countryside.
